History
The Leon Springs Farmers Market was established by Mario Obledo, Jr. in August, 2007. The area's growth and increased customer demand has resulted in some exciting changes for this market since its inception.
Originally, the market was held on Thursday afternoons in the parking lot of the Leon Springs Dancehall, but, in response to requests, it soon switched to Saturday mornings, so more people could enjoy the convenience of a local farmers market. As the market traffic increased, the Leon Springs Dancehall location was no longer a good fit.
Just one year after opening, the market relocated to the Leon Springs Baptist Church, located at 24133 Boerne Stage Road, where it remains today.
The Leon Springs Farmers Market has been a wonderful addition to the community. Its welcoming atmosphere and friendly spirit ensures that both the customers and the vendors have a good time and reap the rewards of supporting local farmers and artisanal businesses.
